Synopsis "Constantine Furman's The Life of Marta"
Marta Golea is a 70-year-old actress living in Rome, Italy. She is known in the United States for a couple of horror films she did in the mid-80s but little else. In Italy, she is unknown to the general public, but gets steady work in television and motion pictures due to her work ethic and talent. When not on set, she spends much of her time alone and does not know her place in the world or if she even belongs in it any more.On the insistence of her agent, Marta goes to a horror convention in the United States. Once there, she encounters Bill Fullum, a tax accountant from New Mexico who loves her horror films. Because of their chance encounter, Marta is smitten with Bill and invites him to dinner and to stay as her liaison the rest of the weekend. Once the convention is over, Marta realizes she'll have to go back to Italy and be alone again, so she invites the young accountant to vacation with her in Rome. He accepts and the two embark on a joie de vivre tour of Rome and its surrounding areas wherein the secrets of Marta Golea's life are slowly revealed.
