Synopsis "Finite Element Analysis of Stress and Deformation in Mini-Implants"
The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress and strain of two commercial brands of orthodontic mini-implants after the application of two types of forces (tensile force of 200 gf and torsion force of 20 N.cm) inserted at two angulations (45 and 90 in relation to the cortical bone). Material and method: Three-dimensional models of the two brands of mini-implants (SIN - Sao Paulo, Brazil, and RMO - South Korea) were built and analyzed by finite element analysis (FEA). The analyses were performed in simulations on cortical bone, cancellous bone and screw.
