The true life story of a Kentucky sharecropper's son who went from using a mule-pulled plow to enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corp where he became a pilot and officer serving in WWII and Korea. His flight career spanned some 61 years flying 41 different planes and logging over 25,000 hours. Wil went from fighter pilot to Federal Express employee #65, entering the business after he was sought out by Air Force Brigadier General Fred Hook Jr. and Fred Smith, the founder of FedEX. Among his awards and achievements: Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame; Wright Brothers' Master Pilot Award; Knights of Columbus Sir Knight (4th degree); 32 degree Mason; Kentucky Colonel and Tennessee Square; 7-time Bravo Zulu Award Winner; Tailhook Society Member; and Quiet Birdman Society member.
