Synopsis "A History of Camp Owatonna, 1922-2021"
This book was commissioned by Camp Owatonna to tell its 100-year history. Camp Owatonna is a Christian Science summer camp for boys, located in Harrison, Maine. Owatonna was established in 1955 by alumni of Camp Ropioa, a Christian Science camp that operated at the same location from 1922-1940. This book walks through each decade since 1922 and provides insight into the origins of many of Owatonna's traditions. It draws anecdotes and information from camp publications, letters, and reminiscences, as well as from 30 interviews of alumni. It includes nearly 100 photographs, which go all the way back to 1922. The appendix includes a record of team places and feather winners since 1957.
