Secrecy is finally disposed of, and the world appears a safer place. Young Eli and Warren grow up as childhood classmates, and intellectual prodigies. By chance, Eli discovers the mysterious key to an Artificial Intelligence device which implants into our brains. This revolutionary technology, piggybacking off the connectivity of the satellite network, promises to give everyone ultra-human abilities. Concerned about how this would change the world if released, Eli and his friends initially keep the breakthrough to themselves. Several years further into the future, while attending a prestigious institute in Cambridge, MA, an impatient Warren alters the tech into serum form, and releases it to a public reeling from a biological disaster.
