Synopsis "An Innovative Design and Demonstration for Very Low Energy Building"

Pakistan energy situation is gradually troubling due to lack of planning in energy sector. All sectors get affected due to long hours power outage which can be minimized by adopting PV solar system in individual capacity. PV solar is secondary source of energy in many countries as it contributes its part in national grid but in Pakistan it is not yet drawn out at building level. Pakistan has an average solar global insolation of 5-7 KWh/m2/day. The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that the residential, commercial, and public buildings account for 30 - 40% of the world's energy consumption. The first phase involves formulating of solar energy calculation which is based on real load calculations. The next phase addresses the efficient energy management of electrical loads by using sensor networks. These sensor nodes are deployed for occupant behavior monitoring, and for the intelligent control of the power flow from source to load based on zonal distribution. The final phase deals with the exploitation of renewable and sustainable technologies as a standalone power generation entity, which renders the selected building space self-sufficient in fulfilling its energy demand.
