Mucho antes de que comenzara la consagración universal de Fernando Pessoa, cuando incluso en Portugal era un poeta ignorado y casi un desconocido, en 1961 Fabril Editora publica en Buenos Aires, en su colección 'Los Poetas', con selección y versión de Rodolfo Alonso, la primera traducción de Ferrando Pessoa en América Latina. Que fue, al mismo tiempo, la primera en lengua castellana de todos sus heterónimos. Con tal repercusión que pronto fue necesario realizar sucesivas reediciones. El reconocimiento llegó incluso a Portugal, donde aquella edición argentina fue celebrada por Maria Aliete Galhoz, una de las primeras investigadoras de Pessoa: 'Rodolfo Alonso nos restituye un poeta a través del amor de otro poeta.' Lisboa, 1963.Editorial Argonauta reedita hoy, revisada pero textualmente, aquella antología que significó para el mundo de habla hispana el descubrimiento de un poeta excepcional.'
