Synopsis "At the Motrano Retreat ? The Book of the Divine Mother"
The author visited Italy early Spring April-May 2015 and went to a few places where he gave talks and conducted extended weekend seminars. The subjects covered were essentially connected with Sri Aurobindo's Savitri. At the Retreat in Motrano, Siena, south of Florence, the subject chosen was The Book of the Divine Mother which was taken up Friday-Saturday-Sunday 8-9-10 May 2015. There were about 20 participants who also had very good background about Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's works. This made things pretty easy though there was a difficulty about the language. Most of them did not know good enough English and the talks had to be simultaneously translated into Italian which was done very competently and perceptively by Molinari Fiamma who knows both the languages well. The total duration of the Retreat ran into something like 18 hours. Transcription of the Italian version as audio-recorded is being compiled and will be published separately. But while redrafting the present book, At the Motrano Retreat - The Book of the Divine Mother, the author allowed himself good freedom to make considerable departures from the actual presentations made during the sessions. He has taken the opportunity of elaborating the thematic aspects in their fuller context using the texts from the Mother and Sri Aurobindo's writings. This enables to view the subject with different perspectives.
