Apparently risking your life for the reserve was regarded as some kind of pledge of allegiance. They meant to chain me to the place so I could ensure its safety forever. No way. That was just out of the question. I was going to give them the slip, no matter the danger. I had to find my father and I had a million questions waiting for answers, which I certainly wasn't going to get lying in bed all day.
