Synopsis "beware the bright moon"
The cruise ship, Evening Star, sinks off the coast of Africa with eight hundred people aboard. Not long after, the USS Washington, an American military vessel, collides with a freighter and sinks off the coast of Florida. Two unrelated incidents? Two Washington Post reporters, Leila and Timothy Brandt don't think so. The Bright Moon, a terrorist ship, has been harassing the high seas. Admiral Williams of the Joint Chiefs of Staff claims that the "terrorist" ship is a freighter. But the Brandt's sources tell them otherwise. Its captain claims that he and the Bright Moon's crew are survivors from the Evening Star, and that his ship is really the USS Washington. Who is lying? With someone after Tim and Leila and a US Navy submarine tracking the Bright Moon with a sink on sight order, there isn't much time left to find out.
