When his current family can no longer cope with his behavior, Mickey returns to shelter care. His imaginary friend, Captain Duffy, helps him heal from the trauma in his life. Though Captain Duffy and the Kid Who Threw Eggs is a children's story written at 4th grade reading level, it is a bibliotherapeutic story best shared between adults and children. It is a story that evokes emotion as Mickey heals from the losses in his life. There are discussion questions at the end of each chapter and suggested activities.
