Composed for chamber orchestra, this intimate and revealing setting of the Cavatina for solo violin is one of the rare concert gems from the latter half of the nineteenth century from an acknowledged master of the form. Jadassohn was deeply impressed by the music of Richard Wagner and 'Cavatine' is an almost sensual expression of the Wagnerian tradition in which emotional power is matched by the sophisticated handling of orchestral forces. --- Diese für ein Kammerorchester komponierte intime und aufschlussreiche Fassung der Cavatine für Solovioline ist eine der seltenen Konzertperlen aus der zweiten Hälfte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts von einem anerkannten Meister der Form. Jadassohn war von der Musik Richard Wagners tief beeindruckt und die 'Cavatine' ist ein fast sinnlicher Ausdruck der Wagnerschen Tradition, bei der die emotionale Kraft und eine ausgefeilte Behandlung der orchestralen Kräfte aufeinander abgestimmt sind.
