Synopsis "Chapliki: The World of Belief"
This book is a story about creatures called Chapliki. The hero of this story is concerned with its lack of identity. He meets a wise Teachlik, who introduces a way to question the thoughts and leads the hero to find his identity within. The reader is exposed to THE WORK of BYRON KATIE through the use of the four questions and a turnaround process, creatively integrated into the story. The author as an educator used this book with children of various ages to do an inquiry into their everyday issues. The book's limerick format makes it easy and fun to read. The kinesthetic associations with emotions shown by the main character, help children to understand the concepts and express their own feelings. Author's use of unique characters created by her, eliminates the stereotyping, providing the child with a way of creative self-expression. Children and adults alike can have fun with creating and coloring their own characters and scenes.
