Synopsis "Characterization of alkaline protease"
The microbial proteases from Bacillus sp. are commercial enzymes, which havefound wide applications in various industrial, biotechnological, medicinal and basic research fields. Bacillus is the most important bacterial source of proteases and is capable of producing high yields of alkaline proteolytic enzymes with significant properties, such as high stability towards high temperatures, pH, organic solvents, detergents and oxidizing agents. Proteases produced by enzymatic method were more Eco friendly when compared with the chemical process and it has tremendous potential in the leather, detergent industry and in other several industries. Leather manufacturing process generates quantities of byproducts and solid wastes higher than that of finished leather. Highly polluting solid wastes containing varied quantities of protein are currently being wasted due to their non utilization. With increasing importance on the environmental protection, the use of bio catalysts gained considerable attention. There is a need to explore new microorganisms for production of new enzymes which have versatile ability to fulfill industrial demand.
