Synopsis "Chi Sau step by step: A guide to perfecting Wing Chun Kung Fu"

Wing Chun is an extremely simplified fighting system, which focuses on close quarters combat. It includes six forms - three unarmed, two with weapons and a wooden dummy form. What binds all elements of Wing Chun together (forms, sparring, weapons and tools) is the specific method called Chi Sau. Chi Sau is a term for the principle and the practice, used to develop automated reflexes on contact. It's is a training of sensitivity and should not be mistaken for actual sparring or a fight, though it could be practiced or expressed in a fighting form. This book provides a closer look at all components of the Chi Sau method: Daan Chi Sau, Poon Sau, Laap Sau/Luk Sau and Gwoh Sau. The book is richly illustrated with more than 600 photographs, as well as examples of daily, weekly and monthly training programs. It includes an adapted glossary for the terms used in Chi Sau in both English and Traditional Chinese. Cí zhàn jiāng is the alias of a Wing Chun teacher with 35 years(lives and teaches in the EU) of experience that trained under several masters, multiple national champion, twice European champion and a one time world champion. The use of a pseudonym became necessary for a very simple reason - most schools belong to a specific family, clan, direction, association and other similar formations. Each such formation encapsulates itself and limits its contacts with other Wing Chun formations to an absolute minimum. It comes to that - to completely deny the practices of other schools, and this is done not after a serious and constructive analysis, but only because they are the others! So, by using a pseudonym and not advertising my own clan, I would like to protect you from being labeled. Give yourself the opportunity to try the practices suggested in this book, and if you like them I will be happy. If you have critical comments, we can discuss them in the provided links with me.
