Synopsis "Children Rights in Nigeria"
This book undertakes a legal appraisal of child labour in Nigeria. Child labour in Nigeria would be examined within the context of the rights of the child and the duties of the government. The primary question that would be addressed in this book is: "To what extent has the weaknesses in the Nigerian Legal and Institutional Framework on children rights and the failure of the Nigerian government to carry out its duties to protect children created opportunities for the exploitation of vulnerable Nigerian children through child labour?" Two categories of statutes protect children from exploitation through child labour. The first are the human rights statutes. The second are the labour statutes.
