From the Author: I wanted to write a book in which the main character was a bad dude. I think I succeeded with Devon, but even though he's bad, the reader really should root for him. Devon is in a bad situation. Coming from poverty and living in the inner city, he knows no other life. He accepts his life - fighting for survival on the streets - is just the way life is. Very soon, Devon will realize that life does not have to be what he has always thought it to be, that he and his hard-working mother can - with the help of others - climb out of his current situation and make a difference in the lives of others.
