He and his wife Jan lived in Indonesia for over 30 years and raised 3 children while working among the Sundanese Muslim peoples. Roger was ordained as a Methodist minister in 1963, but he and Jan now attend West Lynchburg Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia.
