Synopsis "Comparative Effects of Poultry Waste, Biochar and Modified Biochar"
The more the activities of humans, the more waste we generate. Therefore, there is an urgent need for waste management schemes. Saw-dust as waste from sawmill was carbonized to form biochar, blended with poultry waste to form blended biochar. Three treatments (blended biochar, biochar, and poultry waste) and control (topsoil) were replicated mixed with topsoil. The experiment showed that blended biochar performed better than other treatments in the growth and yield of okra.It was therefore recommended that wastes like sawdust and poultry waste could be managed by using them for the planting of okra and some other crops with the same properties as okra.
