Synopsis "Counterculture: Diners of new England"
Art Krauss is an artist, poet, storyteller, singer/songwriter, professor of Art and Media; and most importantly, a dad and granddad. He grew up in Detroit when teens hung out at drive in restaurants and burger joints. A date back then may have started at a movie and wound up at the Big Boy restaurant. A long time resident of New England, Krauss continued his love of diners in the area where these symbols of Americana still thrive...the traditional diner. Starting in 2013, Krauss decided to go on the ultimate road trip and visit diners from Maine to Rhode Island. This book is a series of images and thoughts about what he found in the candid photos he took over the years.
