When two young intellectuals marry and decide to "have one small baby that will fit in a drawer maybe," they begin an adventure that will challenge the way they live and force battle with the powers that be. Cynthia's Song is the story of how a small handicapped child changed the lives of fourteen people and the landscape of a school through the force of her Spirit. A lover of her church and people, her presence informed a new way of teaching small children and deeply bonded her family. Cynthia had a 31 IQ, limited rote speech, a creaky shuffling gait and the power to create love and harmony wherever she went.
