Synopsis "Darker Shadows: Buried Draughts trilogy Book 2"
Darker Shadows is book 2 of The Buried Draughts trilogy. With the death of Anton and his crew, Clarissa's plan for revenge against the ruling families of the town took its first step. They have no reason or desire to celebrate, Anton was nothing to the Families, it wasn't his death but the treasures they recover that help the women. Clarissa, Linda, and Ellen, along with the ghosts, find Liz's belief in the balancing of forces doesn't always work in their favor. When a fugitive escapes one of the families, Linda insists this is the direction they must attack. In they midst of planning, new and powerful enemy spirits are discovered. Mustering their small army of spirits, they invade enemy territory, hoping to take down one entire family. Meredith steps it up with Linda's drug regimen. Subject to the drug's sexual slavery, Linda fights to hold onto her mind. Even with inside help, she struggles day to day. Now having rank among the families, Meredith starts planning her future. She soon learns to be wary of manipulations within the families. With the success of her enslaving drugs, every family wants a piece of her. In a surprise development, a new/ancient enemy begins exerting influence within one of the families. Linda must investigate one of the living of the family and finds more to worry about, though it points out their next direction to attack. While their previous mission had brought State and Federal Law Enforcement into the town they must continue. It's not enough to kill the families, they must demonstrate that the killings were justified... it's not the easiest side of their mission. Still, the women and spirits continue their work to destroy the power of the Families.
