Im Mittelpunkt dieses Bandes steht die Diskussion eines (oder des?) leitenden Paradigmas der Soziologie. Dieses Modell trägt der Forderung des methodologischen Individualismus Rechnung, Veränderungen von Makro-Phänomenen über den Umweg der Mikro-Ebene, also über die Entscheidung von Akteuren, sowie deren Aggregation zu erklären. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die These, dass vornehmlich die Makro-Phänomene von soziologischem Interesse seien, diese sich aber eben nur durch die Rückführung auf das Handeln individueller Akteure vollständig aufklären lie en.
