Synopsis "Death at the Drive-In"
Baby Boomer Billie Jenkins has lost the lease to her murder mystery dinner theatre and her leading lady departs to 'find herself' in Iceland. Now, without an income, Billie faces foreclosure on her log cabin and default on her student loans. Time is against her as she struggles to complete her MFA thesis, hold auditions and find new theater space with the help of her widowed accountant, Emmett Gilmour. Divorced for more than a decade, Billie gets the vibe that Emmett's sweet on her. Now she must remember how to let him know she's interested without coming across as a menopausal madwoman. Afraid of having her history of hyperbole revealed - including the invention of a son - Billie struggles with defining reality. Just when she begins to feel almost normal, Billie's recently widowed sister moves in, disrupting everything and threatening to expose Billie for being Ms. Whack-Job USA. Making matters worse is Billie's growing suspicion that her sister may have murdered her husband.
