Synopsis "Deniable Justice"
Robert Link, an ex-government assassin now assigned to a white-collar crime unit, is recruited by the first black female U. S. Senator to investigate reports of rape, beatings, and arson in her home town. Rogue insurance agents have found ways to intimidate, brutalize, and take advantage of the weakest and most defenseless of her constituency. She wants it stopped. Link engages the help of a rookie FBI agent, Debbie, two lethal friends, Rich and Ortiz, and a mysterious "Countess" married to a suspected drug lord. Going undercover, Link soon learns there is more to the insurance business than expected as he confronts an operation that is also interested in illegal drug distribution. As Link and Debbie become close, she becomes the target of the company enforcers, leaving Link with no choice but to apply his deadly skills to deliver "deniable justice." This is the second book in the Robert Link thriller series and serves as a prequel to "The Syndicate's Church." This novel, "Deniable Justice," provides many clues to the background, motivations, and the "Link connection" for the supporting characters, Debbie, Rich, Ortiz, the Countess, and the Senator.
