Synopsis "Disappearing Lines: Reflections of an International Drug Smuggler: How Much is This Shit Really Worth?"
The author was raised in California in a blue collar neighborhood. He came of age enjoying the freedom and excitement of the "Hippie scene" in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although the scene helped him feel like he had found a home, it also put him on a collision course leading to his long-life drug addiction. This story details his circuitous journey from becoming a casual drug user, to his small-scale dealing, and eventually, to becoming an international drug smuggler. Subsequent to his arrest and conviction, he was ordered into residential rehabilitation for almost three years. He managed to wrestle down his personal demons in rehab, and thereafter, he became a successful drug counselor and social worker. This book reflects upon the author's struggle to find his way back to a meaningful place in society and within his family. Ultimately, the story is a tale of one man's trial by fire and his personal redemption.
