Synopsis "Double Naught: a play in one act"
On New Year's Eve 1899, Mr. Smith is boycotting the party thrown by his father for the family's fireworks factory, annoyed by the celebration of the mathematically-false centennial. He instead spends his time trying to repair a clock which allegedly stopped cold the same instant the bullet entered Lincoln's brain - while his hugely-pregnant wife awaits the breaking of her water and his father finally tells of his torture in a Confederate prison camp.
