Synopsis "Easy Hikes to Carolina Waterfalls: A Guide to Over 200 Waterfalls in North and South Carolina"

This book provides directions to over 200 waterfalls in North and South Carolina. The hikes are designed for people that are casual hikers and include some roadside falls. The longest hike is 2.2 miles, but the majority are less than one mile hikes along established trails. The waterfalls are organized by geographical area and will enable you to explore several waterfalls in an area in one outing. A colored photograph is provided of each waterfall. The waterfalls covered will take you from Greenville County to Oconee County in South Carolina and from Western North Carolina to the Grandfather Mountain Area of North Carolina and include waterfalls that are not widely known. You will learn of waterfalls in Caesars Head State Park, Table Rock State Park and Jones Gap State Park, as well as waterfalls near Westminister, Walhalla and Greenville, South Carolina. In North Carolina, you can visit waterfalls near Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, Saluda, Highlands, Cashiers, Gorges State Park, Burnsville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Marion, Linville Gorge, along the "Waterfall Highway in Rosman", Franklin, Cherokee, and Dupont State Forest. As you begin your journey on exploring the beautiful waterfalls of the Carolinas, you will find that you want to see more and more of the area and may become a true "waterfaller." That is a person that develops a strong passion for waterfalls and may keep a list of dates and waterfalls visited. These waterfall hikes will take you to serene locations, by gently flowing streams and green forests. You will feel the excitement of hearing the volume of water increasing as you approach a waterfall. Each season provides a unique opportunity from seeing icicles on the waterfall in winter, blooming rhododendrons in June, autumn color and wildflowers in summer.
