The Maximum Expiratory Pressure is the measure of the strength of the expiratory muscles, obtained by having the patient exhale as strongly as possible against a mouthpiece. Large variation in Maximum Expiratory Pressure are reported in normal subjects. Age and sex could influence MEP value it is lower in females than in males and quite constant until seventy years of age when they start to decrease. Ideal position for MEP is upright sitting position. The purpose of this study is to determine respiratory muscle pressures and Is there any change in MEP with change in body positions in healthy individuals.Aim and Objectives: To find out the effect of different body positions on maximum expiratory pressure, To assess the expiratory muscle strength by using the positive expiratory pressure gauge and To check MEP in standing, sitting and semi-fowlers position and comparison of MEP in three positions.
