Synopsis "Effect of Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin on the Rate of Otm"

The local administration of biological agents during orthodontic treatment may have diverse impacts on the pace of tooth movement in people, according to the collected data. The following salient outcomes can be drawn from the study: PRP injection into the submucosa is a clinically practical and successful approach for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement while preserving alveolar bone on the pressure side of orthodontic tooth movement, and the ideal dose of PRP for the best clinical performance is 11.0-12.5 folds. i-PRF-facilitated orthodontics is an effective and safe treatment modality to accelerate tooth movement, and shorten orthodontic treatment duration. PRP showed a positive potential to accelerate the rate of tooth movement when injected in the first 2 months. The use of i-PRF, a multidisciplinary technique that combines orthodontics and surgery, may help to speed up OTM, especially in extraction instances. PRP injection is a simple and safe way to accelerate canine retraction without compromising root length. Although PRF enhanced tooth movement, there were no differences in speed, quantity, duration, or periodontal characteristics during canine distalisation.
