Cement, sand and aggregate are most important for any construction industry. Sand is a primary material used for making mortar and concrete and plays a most significant role. Generally, consumption of natural sand is high, due to the usage of high-volume in concrete and mortar. the demand for natural sand is very high in developing countries to meet the rapid infrastructure growth. In a developing country like India facing a shortage of good quality natural sand. This book provides the physical and chemical properties of GBFS and the performance of Standard grade concrete of M 30 & M 40 and high strength concrete of M 60 & M 80 grade. An effort has been made to focus on the replacement of natural river sand and manufactured sand with granulated blast furnace slag by 0%, 30%, 50% and 100% in Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) and Portland Slag Cement (PSC) concrete with the targeted workability of 100 mm. For various replacement levels of GBFS, the fresh and hardened properties of concrete such as workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, at different curing periods and the optimum replacement level was determined.
