Synopsis "Effectiveness of diode lasers in Dentinal Hypersensitivity"

This book tries to throw a light on the effectiveness of Diode lasers in Dentinal Hypersensitivity .A MEDLINE search was conducted by hand searching and database records of past 10yrs from January 2021. Only original articles were included for the systematic review which comprised cross-sectional studies, randomized control trials and cohort studies. After screening of the records about 13 articles were taken for final assessment to analyse the impact of diode lasers in treatment of dental hypersensitivity. All the studies were in favour that diode lasers have high influence on the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity except 1 study who did not obtain any microstructural changes while using diode laser at for 30 and 60 seconds respectively. Based on relevant studies this systematic review suggests that diode lasers is adequate and effective for reducing dentinal hypersensitivity. However more number of studies are required to perceive the proper effect of diode lasers on hypersensitivity as there is as there is diversity of protocols regarding the use of diode lasers, with different power, number of sessions and application points in the tooth affected by DH.
