Synopsis "Empowering Teens: Trauma-Informed Re-entry"
The purpose of this book is to propose a trauma-informed re-entry program for adolescents with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health disorders leaving long-term group residential treatment programs. The program is a 12-week program design, but it can be flexible to expand to more weeks depending upon the adolescent's needs. This program is being developed in response to no organized after-care programs in West Virginia. This adolescent reentry program's development incorporates cognitive, behavioral, and biological theories from psychology with cultural factors of West Virginia and preexisting re-entry program research
