Industrial revolutions are times of rapid change achieved through innovation. The Fifth Industrial Revolution will see much more advanced collaborative interactions between humans, machines, processes, and systems for maximum performance optimization. Sustainable development is an organizing principle for meeting human development goals while sustaining the ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services on which the economy and society depend.
