Synopsis "Ex-Nasciturus: The Antidote will be Abortire: Medicine, crime, solution or right."

Taking advantage of the issue of maternal mortality, we must point out that the sectors that promote the decriminalization of abortion allege that one way to reduce maternal mortality would be to legalize abortion in order to prevent maternal deaths as a result of Illegal abortions. Interestingly, a study by the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the World Bank in 1999 established as recommendations the following measures to reduce the mortality of the pregnant mother (the legalization of abortion is not among those measures):1. Easy access to family planning.2. Adolescent education to be married at later ages.3. Improve the feeding of girls, adolescents and pregnant women. 4. Improve sex education.5. Improve the education of the medical professional and midwives.6. Develop protocols that can be implemented in patient care.7. Increase education on how to plan for pregnancies and educate the population about the complications of abortions. As to the idea of being allowed to abort women whose children have malformations during the pregnancy stage, it would be to bring us back to a stage that the history of humanity has already overcome. It would introduce in the Dominican Republic legislation of a eugenics character, which would discriminate against human beings who present during the gestation stage physical or mental defects, flagrantly violating the Constitution and The International Covenants on Human Rights, which consecrate the principle of non-discrimination.
