A 30 something unmarried professional woman named Daphne Kinkade goes home to a funeral after her parents' mysterious deaths. She is soon met by family solicitors for a strange and cryptic inheritance that leads her down a spiraling path of mystery, deception and unalterable adventures at a University town where it is discovered she's the heir to one of their coveted treasures: travel through a doorway in time. Daphne and her new friends must follow clues left by her grandparents and elders in the community to uncover treachery, explore the unknown and create new opportunities for an Old Society entrenched in their secret ways. The team brings back the idealistic optimism Daphne's grandparents had when they discovered and established the Time Protocol 30 years prior. Mezieres University, nestled in the town of Monte Basil Carasso welcomes the new chair with open arms, engaging a cast of colorful characters including the 100 year old cloaked elder simply known as The Maran. Now the games begin. Making fast allies and enemies, Daphne and her friends have tides pulling them away from each other as they struggle to understand, explore and map the fabric of their new Universe.
