Die Behandlung von Verunreinigungen in Abwässern erfolgt in der Regel mit konventionellen Techniken. Die Adsorption hat sich jedoch als alternative Technik durchgesetzt, da es sich um eine einfache, wirksame und leicht umzusetzende Methode handelt. Angesichts der breiten Verfügbarkeit von kostengünstigen Abfallstoffen, die bei der industriellen Verarbeitung anfallen, sind au erdem Forschungen notwendig, um die nachhaltige Nutzung dieser Feststoffe zu fördern. In dieser Hinsicht ist die Entwicklung von Verbundwerkstoffen, die einfach anzuwenden und kostengünstig herzustellen sind, eine vielversprechende Alternative. Ziel dieser Arbeit war es daher, ein Adsorptionsmittelkomposit aus Kesselasche für die Behandlung von wässrigen Lösungen, die industrielle Farbstoffe enthalten, zu entwickeln. Der Verbundstoff wurde durch Auflösen von expandiertem Polystyrol und Kesselasche in Cyclohexan gewonnen. In diesem Buch werden die Ergebnisse der Forschungsarbeiten vorgestellt.
