Synopsis "Félix Poutré (in French)"

Parue en 1871 aux éditions maison Beauchemin, cette pièce de Louis Fréchette a été présentée pour la première fois à la Salle de musique de Québec le 22 novembre 1862 avec Pierre Dumas dans le rôle titre (Lanctot,1948:206). Ce drame, mettant en scène l'action d'un patriote cherchant à échapper à la répression suite à l'insurrection de 1838, connut un grand succès populaire puisqu'elle est reprise plusieurs fois dans diverses localités, notamment à St-Léonard d'Aston en 1922 et à Montréal à la fin septembre 1929 (Filion, 1974:28). Il s'agit d'ailleurs de la première pièce à être écrite sur cet épisode historique (Bélanger, 1982: 247).
