Synopsis "Flock of Thoughts"
What does Athene Trek find when she takes a hike in the collective unconscious? This is the beginning of a project that is taking on a life of its own. I like to hike, I like to watch birds and I have a drawing problem. One day I couldn't hike and with no planning I sat down in a café. I drew out this series of birds. When I showed them to friends and family they asked me where I saw them. I explained they just live in my mind. From there came the idea of cobbling them together in a sketchbook format, like a naturalist taking notes. Since there is no regular environment I embraced the idea that these birds would populate one's mind when one thought about certain subjects. The fauna of the environment of the mind. A landscape that changes constantly. After the entries were written the character who explores the mind came. Named after the goddess of wisdom and hatched out of her father's head. Athene Trek.
