Synopsis "FNE, POP and Emotional Exhaustion- Intervening Role of Facade Creation"
At workplace, when employees face the dilemma of conflicting organisational and personal core values, they engage in interplay of self-presentation and conformity to fit-in as a survival mechanism by creating impression that they embrace organisational values. This type of behaviour is termed as "Facades of Conformity". Exhibition of this kind of behaviour is detrimental for the organisation as it inhibits explicit expression of true-self by the employees and as such hampers creativity and overall organisational effectiveness. On a wider scale, this sort of behaviour is termed as a "veiled sabotage". In this writing we have argued and empirically substantiated that fear of negative evaluation and perception of politics at work place entice employees to engage in this behaviour. It ultimately leads the exhibiter to emotional exhaustion.
