Synopsis "From Happiness To Homicide: From Happiness To Homicide"
After their parents are brutally murdered, Mason and Simon Taylor, fortunate to have survived, flee Mississippi and escape to New York in the turbulent 60's. Mason becomes a civil rights activist and forms a group called the NEGROES {Neighborhood Economic Growth Reform of Establishments Society} They fight against racism and police brutality while doing things to better the community. Meanwhile, Simon decides to sell heroin there, undermining his brothers efforts. John Shaw who experienced a similar tragedy, becomes a rogue NYC police officer, trying to find the killer and seeking revenge for his parents murders. Mason goes after John for the shooting of an unarmed black man, while John tries to gather evidence against Mason and Simon for murders committed in his precinct. From Happiness To Homicide is a compelling account of racism, police brutality, and drug abuse in the 60's. The assassinations of JFK, RFK, Malcolm X, MLK, plus the civil rights movement, Vietnam war, and organizations like the Black Panthers and Ku Klux Klan made it one of the most turbulent decades in U.S. history.
