Implantatgetragener festsitzender Zahnersatz ist eine aktuelle und gängige Behandlung für die Rehabilitation zahnloser Kiefer im Bereich der prothetischen Zahnheilkunde. Im resorbierten posterioren Oberkiefer ermöglicht die Implantatkippung die Umgehung des Sinusantrums und eine Verbesserung der posterioren prothetischen Abstützung. Gekippte Implantate wurden bei unzureichendem Knochenangebot gesetzt und ermöglichten die erfolgreiche Behandlung von Patienten mit festsitzenden Prothesen. Diese Philosophie, Implantate in den bereits vorhandenen Knochen zu setzen, vermied komplexere chirurgische Eingriffe wie die Kieferhöhlen-Knochentransplantation und andere regenerative Verfahren.
