The book of Genesis, (much like Daniel and Revelation) has experienced the wrath of critics, atheists and experts across all fields. The reason being is that it informs us of our origins, God's nature, God’s intended purpose for mankind and man’s propensity to commit sin. It stands in total contradiction to certain of our world views. God treats pride with contempt and scorns human knowledge. However, He places a high price on humility and adores those who diligently seek the truth. We embark on this roller coaster ride using timelines, maps, illustrations and uncover many customs peculiar to Genesis, which sheds a greater light on its message. While many believe we are living in the days where no-one considers anything sacred, I believe that before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, there will be a great awakening and those whom God has called, will turn to the scriptures in great earnest. We are reminded that as we move closer to the return of Jesus, so the days will become very similar to those described in Genesis. These are referred to as the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Often, life goes full circle only to return to a point of origin. To understand the end, often we have to explore the beginning. This exposition uncovers deep messages and themes which continue throughout all other books of the Bible. If you want to profit from this commentary, dwell on the scriptures and test the opinions as we explore both the diversity and complexity of the scriptures. It will and can never replace your own understanding of Genesis. If at the end of this book you have settled some thoughts or concerns, this commentary would certainly have achieved its objectives. Ultimately, anything worthwhile always leads one to a closer relationship with God and a renewed respect for His word.
