Synopsis "God Was in Complete Control of Joseph's Circumstances"

This book has been written about Joseph, the son of Jacob. He had had two dreams about his family members bowing to him, and those dreams had made them very angry with him. In fact, they hated him so much that they actually tried to get rid of him. They sold him to some merchants going to Egypt. Then, an Egyptian captain bought him out of the local slave market and brought him into his household. Because the Lord was with him, Joseph excelled everywhere he went and in everything that he did. But that did not keep him from getting into a lot of trouble. He ended up in prison when the Egyptian captain's wife had falsely claimed that he had tried to force himself on her. Once he was in prison, he had excelled again. But that did not keep him from spending a lengthy time there. Joseph would eventually get out of prison and rise to be the number two man in Egypt. But his journey was filled with difficulties and setbacks. Joseph is an excellent example of right behavior in all circumstances. He did well even when things turned against him, because of his high personal standards and integrity. For many of his early years in Egypt, he may not have felt like the Lord was in complete control of his circumstances. But by the time that he had reached his destiny, he understood the Lord's workings in his life. This book discusses the details of his life in Egypt. It explains how he would have probably gotten saved. It explains why God fashions some vessels for honor and others for dishonor. It presents an analogy of the Egyptian captain purchasing Joseph out of the slave market and Jesus purchasing a lost sinner out of the sin market. Lastly, it discusses different aspects of forgiveness. There is one note, however, to be made with respect to the organization of this text before concluding this Introduction. Something that the reader might find useful is boxes throughout that show the different passages that are being referenced at the times and in the places where they are being referenced. That way, he or she will not have to jump all over the place or get into or out of the scriptures to locate a particular reference. Hopefully that inclusion will help the reader in trying to understand the various events and to also quickly put them into their right context. So it is hoped that that addition will make this text easier to read and that the Lord will receive the praise, honor, and glory that He rightfully deserves.
