Synopsis "Hay Rake July 1920 V1 N2"

Hay Rake Magazine by Arch Bristow (1882-1964) This book is a reproduction of Arch Bristow's famous humor magazine published about 100 years ago. After the first issue sold out quickly, publisher and editor Arch Bristow and associate editor Billy Munn knew they had something hot. Billy Munn was a Vaudeville performer and was a guest speaker/entertainer at numerous local events in the western Pennsylvania area. In addition to joke telling, he played the hand saw like a violin and billed himself as the Mayor of Mudville. In the Hay Rake, he wrote the re-occurring articles of "Uncle Phil Kipp," "Bill's Vaudeville Bill" featured in this issue, plus many other pieces. This issue features "Garland, the Complete Village," where Arch Bristow describes many of Garland's persons of 1920. Arch also introduces the character of Aunty McGuire from Hemlock Hill, who he featured for many years.
