Synopsis "Holy Defense"
When Saddam Hussein became President of Iraq in July 1979 after the ouster of Hassan al-Bakr, he was forced to change the boundaries of Islamic Iran 84 times under the pretext of world arrogance that year. In the first offensive, Iraqi Ba'athist forces stormed two villages in Sardasht, killing six. After the capture of the spy nest, Iraqi forces attacked the Iranian border checkpoints at Pegan, Talab and Kani Sheikh in November 1979. It was also revealed in July 1359 that the Iraqi government had encouraged a military coup plot led by Shapur Bakhtiar. In addition, the Iraqi government expelled Iranians living in the country in order to exert more pressure on Iran. Investigations also show that in the first six months of 1359, Iraqi forces invaded the sacred borders of the Islamic Republic about 552 times.
