Synopsis "How Fighting Turned My Life Around: Straight Talk"
My inspiration for writing this book is due to many of children who are suffering and who continue to suffer every day. So many families are broken, schools are overcrowded, and many neighbors are no longer 'a village'. There are too many deaths that have occurred involving bullying, and abuse is at all time high! Too many parents are unaware of what's happening with their children. Too many of our children suffer from broken homes with absentee parents. Children become lost from feelings of hatred, anger, and resentment, and continue to carry around their unresolved problems. Some cause hurt to others without conscience. While on vacation one year, my heart was hurt from seeing Kani, our family dog, suffering. Biscuit had Kani by the neck in a locked jaw-hold. It brought tears to my eyes as I saw the helpless look in his eyes. Biscuit had control of Kani's life which seemed doomed! I saw the tears and blood that covered his body. These two canines (Rottweiler and Labrador) had lived as a family, but like many families, brothers fight. I suddenly had an epiphany! I had a revealing moment where I knew I had to reach out to our young children and teenagers who may be facing challenges that hinder them from enjoying a more fulfilling life. I am not a writer as my twin brother, Charles L. Rainey in his novel 'The Hour Is Near' but I had a message I felt I had to deliver that would reach parents, teachers, and our precious children. I believe that Biscuit's story and Kani's endearing love, wisdom, and knowledge will empower those who want to listen and learn! Knowledge, love, and caring empower us, helps us to enjoy more of life, make better decisions, accomplish goals, and dreams. My book helps to allow children to decide who they are and who they will be or can become. I knew I had to try to make a difference as Kani did with Biscuit, and as Biscuit did as told in his story. Kani's brotherly 'Straight Talk' gives secrets to how your life can be changed for richer rewards because he cared. The book is not only heartwarming, but provides a wealth of ways to enjoy a happier life--one with goals, successes, and enjoyment! I believe Biscuit and Kani will be remembered by the lives they touched and the heartwarming love shared throughout this book. I believe that school age children and teenagers who read this book will benefit for a more fulfilling and happier life.
