Synopsis "I Am Called to Preach: 10 African Methodist Episcopal Inspirational Sermons"

A dynamic collection filled with messages that showcase African American preaching. Each powerful sermon delivers a wealth of thoughtful, biblically grounded preaching, and creative insights. While social injustices reign, the African American church is the transforming energy on society, culture, and community that elevate the Word of God. Those who truly depend upon God, have divine opportunities, see the invisible, attempt the impossible, and achieve the unthinkable. The great dividing line of humanity is either you will spend eternity in heaven or in hell. The saved are those who trust Jesus Christ as their eternal Savior. The lost are those who did not. Christian Ministry is like a football team. The goal is to work together to achieve the mission of Christianity. God has a special position for all those who are in Christ, but we can never discover it, if we watch safely from the sidelines. We need to put our faith into action and get involved in the spiritual battles taking place around us. You were created to worship God, but if you fail to worship Him, you will surrender to gods that bear no fruit. You are free to choose who you surrender to, but you are not free from the consequences of that choice. Christian worship is the most important activity of a local church. The purpose of worship is to learn and become more like Christ in character and conduct. Ministry must evolve out of worship; otherwise it is without power and without heart. We have a responsibility to support those whom the Lord has called. If we are doing our discipleship work, we are called to fellowship. Just as a coal burns out when removed from the other coals, we will not last long if we are removed from true fellowship among believers. In order to have this fellowship it requires a shared faith. You cannot be in fellowship with God and not be in fellowship with other Christians. The dead are not found in graveyards alone; they are in the pews of our churches. The church is like the valley in Ezekiel's vision, "full of bones". (Ezekiel 37:2). If we only focus on worldly things, we are dead as stones. Satan's dominion must be put down, and the kingdom of God lifted up. Satan has made a claim for your eternal soul, but when God is alive in you, He disarms spiritual enemies. Your life is full of joy and celebration because you know your sins have been cancelled. The Titanic was built by professional ship builders, the Ark was built by an amateur. The Ark survived the flood, the Titanic sank. Noah was not just a ship builder; he was a preacher of righteousness. Noah's ministry is linked with Jesus'. Noah held a hammer in his hand, Jesus absorbed the blows of a hammer into His hands. Noah built with wood, Jesus was pinned to wood. Noah constructed a door, Jesus said, "I am the door". Noah covered the ark with pitch, Jesus covered us with His blood. The ark was a shelter for those saved in Noah's day. Jesus has built a shelter for us as well, the body of believers. There was only one door to the Ark, there is only one way to enter into a relationship with God. Jesus said, "no one comes to the Father except through Me". For those who believe in Him, Jesus is our one entrance into God's redemptive grace. In Noah's day grace came from an Ark, today, grace comes from the Cross. No matter how bleak it looks, God is always with you.
