Taeju is an ordinary boy that lives with his older brother, Gunny, and his dog, Momo, in North Korea, in a small tent in the woods. Taeju always wanted to go to the south but he could only dream about it at the time. But when a close friend of Gunny, a soldier in the military, turns on him and kills him, Taeju and Momo try to leave the country and go to the democratic south.
