Synopsis "In the Shadows of Stars We Dance"
Mark Reino Peltonen was born in 1974 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, otherwise known simply as "The Soo". He started hitchhiking in his teens after seeing Hippies along the Trans Canada highway in the late 70's, a sight that left an indelible mark on his psyche. He received his degree in English from York University in 1998. After graduating he travelled further to Europe and Asia, spending most of that time in Ireland and Japan. He has taken much of the inspiration for these poems from these travels as well as the incredible nature and wonder of Canada. He has worked for the Government, been a Waiter, a Labourer, a Librarian and a Fire Ranger; but of all these occupations Writing has been the most endearing and enduring.These poems were written over the period of 1995 to 2014 and cover such forms as stream of conscious, haiku style, and more conventional stanza structure. Common themes are Love, Passion, Travel, Nature, the Stars and the inevitable connection woven through all of these 'things'.
